Main Beach

Want a Byron Bay holiday where you’re close to all the action and the busiest of beaches? At Byron Bay Beach Houses, you are a pleasant 1.5 km walk along a picturesque path to Main Beach. Directly in front of the Byron Bay town, here you will find the Surf Club and be safe in the knowledge the beach is patrolled from October to Easter. This beach is very popular with international tourists and families because the swell is generally small. You can also snorkel from Main Beach out to the area around Julian Rocks, or to the Tassie II- a wreck just off the coast.

Clarkes Beach

Families are in luck at Byron Bay Beach Houses, with the most idyllic of Byron Bay’s famous beaches right on your doorstep. Just across the road from your stunning beach house, you will find Clarkes Beach, which sits between Main Beach and The Pass. This north-facing beach has surf patrols during school holidays and unless there is a northerly blowing, is calm and serene, making it the perfect location for families and kids. Set up camp on the sand and enjoy Julian Rocks- a cluster of ocean rocks that are 2.5km from shore and a great place to snorkel.

The Pass

Planning a Byron surfing holiday? Look no further than Byron Bay Beach Houses, for their proximity to The Pass– one of the most popular surf breaks on the Northern New South Wales coast. Just 800m from the Byron Bay Beach Houses, The Pass is the place to go if you’re an experienced surfer, or you’d like to check out all the surfing action from Fisherman’s Lookout- a wooden platform overlooking the beach. People looking for a diving holiday should also get to know The Pass as this is where the dive boats launch.

Wategos Beach

From the Byron Bay Beach Houses you can meander, or power-walk your way to the beautiful Wategos Beach via the Cape Byron Walking Track. Wategos is a great place to check out the surfers or long boarders who flock to the water, or join them yourself. This 600m unpatrolled beach sits below the Byron Bay Lighthouse, making it the most Easterly point in Australia and a great place to head on your morning walk if you’d like to catch the sunrise. There is also a lovely picnic spot and electric barbeques on the foreshore.

Little Wategos

From the Byron Bay Beach Houses, if you walk along the Cape Byron Walking Track to Wategos Beach, you can continue on a little further and find the neighbouring Little Wategos. This quiet and secluded beach can’t be accessed by car and is a great spot for rock fishing. Little Wategos is like a secluded slice of heaven and perfect for when you want to take a breath and lie on the beach, have a quiet swim or explore the rock pools.

Tallow Beach

Bird watchers, nature lovers and experienced surfers are in for a treat because if you walk about 800m along the beautiful Arakwal National Park which is just at the back of the Byron Bay Beach Houses, you will find Tallow Beach. This 7km stretch of pristine surf beach is popular with the locals and a good place for beach fishing. This beach is unpatrolled though and the surf can be dangerous so if you’re not used to the swell, you might want to stick to enjoying the spectacular views and seeing what local birdlife you can spot.
